The 2522 is equipped with an electrical plug which means a standard 50A receptacle is all that is needed. No direct wiring required!
A relay is basically a switch. In the case of a kiln, it's the switch that turns the heating elements on and off to control chamber temperature. Solid State Relays provide accuracy, last the lifetime of the kiln, and has an overall better rated design.
