Please Note: If you are tax exempted, and have taxes at checkout notify the Rovin team so we can apply it to your website account. This will make sure that your future orders are tax exempt. Rovin accepts purchase orders, or POs as a method of ordering via email.

If your garage temperature is above 40°F you can keep your clay stored in your car, or in your garage.
Once temperatures reach 32°F your clay is at risk of freezing. You may be okay to leave your clay in the car for up to an hour, However this is a risk. The colder it is the higher the risk. We do not recommend leaving clay, slip, or glazes in your car for longer then necessary during these colder months.
Restoring Frozen Clay
1. Thaw slowly at room temperature.
Do not apply heat to speed up thawing, uneven drying can cause cracking. Letting your clay warm gradually ensures moisture distribution remains even throughout the block.
2. Wedge thoroughly.
Wedging restores consistency, removes air bubbles, and realigns the clay platelets disrupted by freezing. This step is critical skipping it can cause uneven throwing, cracking, or lamination later during firing.
3. Check moisture levels.
It might seem wetter than usual at first. Continued wedging will redistribute moisture evenly. If your clay still feels sticky or soupy, let it air-dry slightly under plastic wrap for a few hours before using.
4. Test before use.
Roll a coil or pinch a small test piece. If it’s smooth and pliable, it’s ready to throw or hand-build.

If your order is 150 pounds or more, we will ship it on a pallet. Shipping any quantity between 150 and 2400 pounds (the weight limit of one pallet) will be the same price. On average, pallets shipping within Southeast Michigan cost between $167 and $178 per pallet. This cost does not cover inside delivery. Shipping cost is subject to change. If you are ordering from further North or West, or out of state, contact Rovin for a shipping quote.
Rovin uses R&L Carriers for all freight shipments. You may schedule your delivery with Rovin when you place your order. In-state, Ohio, and Indiana have a 1-day to 2-day transit.
Orders less than 150 pounds will be shipped via UPS Ground. Shipping costs for these orders vary significantly, contact Rovin for a quote. Lead time is estimated between 2-5 business days via UPS
The answer depends on how you ship.
1. UPS Shipments (under 200 lbs.)
UPS does not provide freeze protection for freezable items. Rovin will not send freezable items until weather warms up. We will continue to send tools, and supplies that are not under risk of freeze damages.
2. Freight Shipments (200 lbs. and above)
Freeze protection is provided for freight shipments only. Freight will not pick up freezable items on Fridays to avoid the shipment sitting in unheated terminals over the weekend. In extreme cold weather Freight may delay shipments as it cannot guarantee freeze protection, we will contact you if there is any weather delays by our freight partners.
Shipping times are subjective to where you are located and what your order entails. If you are in the tri-state area you can expect a package once processed to take 2-5 days to arrive. We do not ship out on weekends, or holidays.
Raw Material orders may experience a small delay depending on the amount due to the packing and processing of each material you order. Example 10 5# items will need to be weighed out and packaged in addition to packaging for transit.
We will always send your tracking information to the email on the order,

Please Provide your Order #
and any photos you can to help us identify and resolve the issue.
Rovin's price breaks for both raw materials and clay are by the pound. We are not able to measure orders in grams, so you will have to calculate how much material your recipe calls for in pounds.
There are slight variations in each type of material, though they can be interchangeable in a recipe, they will cause slight changes in results. Consult resources like glazy.com & digitalfire.com and read about the chemical makeup of the different raw material variants ex types of ball clays. take it a step further and conduct some fusion button tests; fire a small amount of the raw materials on test tiles by themselves and compare the fired qualities: color texture, melt, etc. this will give some clues about how it will behave in your clay or glaze recipe.
