Minspar 200 is 200 mesh flotation grade soda Feldspar used in the ceramic whiteware industry for sanitaryware, dinnerware, floor and wall tile, artware and glazes. This product is used as a substitute for Kona F4, which is no longer mined. The chemical analysis of Minspar 200 is very close, but not identical to Kona F4. Minspar 200 is the trade name for NC-4 and a 200-mesh feldspar, like F4 was. As with any new material, we highly encourage testing in small batches. Most glazes will show very little difference, if any at all, but there will be those that are more sensitive and it's best to be on the safe side.
WARNING: Contains free crystalline silica, which could lead to silicosis or other lung diseases after very long exposure. IRAC has classified crystalline silica as a carcinogen, based on evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals and limited evidence of carcinogenicity to humans.
