The ultimate hold-down tool for trimming inverted pottery.
It resembles a small lazy Susan … but in shape and operation only. The top disc has a slight dip at its center to guide the positioning of fingertips. The bottom disc contains a series of radial ribs on its underside to grip the clay and prevent it from sliding off-center. A waterproof bearing, press-fitted between the discs, imparts a smooth, silent non-fiction spin as you press down with a finger or two … holding the pot to the wheel head with out the use of clay wads.
The tool’s stand-alone versatility quickly secures large and small bowls and platters to the wheel head and provides stabilizing support to tall forms. The bright yellow color of this indestructible device makes it easy to locate in the studio and puts a little “sunshine” into your toolbox.
Included with the Trimming Disc is a 10-minute instructional DVD with tips on trimming.
