Contains 2 cones each of Orton Cones 06,05, and 04.This set is intended to create two cone packs.
Instructions: Snap apart cones by holding against an edge of a table. Form a wide coil of clay and stick cones in as seen in 4th photo, holding a cone against the table behind your coil, place the cones in the clay and match the natural angle of the cone on the table. Each cone should be a little under a centimeter apart and all facing the same direction. Let the cone packs dry completely before firing. Place one pack towards the bottom of the kiln and another towards the top so you can assure the kiln is heating evenly at each firing.
Cone packs are an essential part of the firing process that help ensure you are firing to the correct temperature and length of time. The cones measure not just temp but the amount of heat work being done on the ceramics in your kiln so you can keep a closer eye on the results of your firings and diagnose kiln, glaze, and other firing related problems more easily.
