Join us for a slide lecture by artist Jason J. Ferguson on Friday October 19th
at 6 PM. Jason is an installation artist who uses performance, video, and sculptural objects in his work. Come learn about his use of CNC and 3D printing in his artistic process. Jason has exhibited his work internationally and has been featured in multiple publications including Sculpture Magazine.
Above are a series of photos that show how Jason uses CAD (computer aided design) software to create his sculptures. They are designed on a computer to be printed or carved with a CNC machine in 3D. This cutting edge technology allows him to design complex large scale sculptures.
Above is a process photo of Jason's The Nature of Being
. To make this full size exact replica of his own skeleton he took an MRI and used CAD technology to to 3D print this piece!
Jason received his MFA in Sculpture at the university of Delaware in 2006. He has exhibited his work worldwide and recently filled two rooms at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit. He was an Artist in Residence at Elsewhere Artist Collaborative in 2007 and Kunst in Kolderveen in 2008.
