May 15 : Artist Talk with Rex Benson
An Evening with Rex Benson
Thursday May 15, 2014 6:30 pm
For over 30 years, local artist Rex Benson has been sculpting whimsical 3 dimensional "Clay Cartoons" using multiple clay bodies all at once. Rex rarely glazes his work, but utilizes the clay bodies for the color and texture they bring to each piece, and he often customizes the color of the clay using Mason Stains.
As an "endangered American Artist (Rex) combines handbuilding skills with chronically twisted wit." This FREE Artist Talk, will be packed to the brim with humor and insight, as Rex is know for his delightful and wacky demonstrations. Rex will generously demonstrate his unique techniques, discuss how he has developed his extensive body of work, and share his insights for surviving as an artist today.
We recently sat down and chatted with Rex. To read about that conversation, click HERE .
Refreshments will be provided, and Rovin will have extended hours on the evening of the Artist Talk.
